Du Quoin Fairgrounds Engagement Session
You all know this by now, but fall is the favorite season for most of my couples for their engagement photos. Bridget and Thomas were looking for a great location that would show some beautiful fall colors and I suggested we head to the Du Quoin Fairgrounds. It was a location that was about half way for each of us to meet up and I know that location very well. Bridget pretty much told me that they were pretty much up for whatever I thought was best. As a photographer, I love hearing that because it means I can do what I do best and give them exactly the outcome they’re looking for.
If you’ve never been to the DuQuoin Fairgrounds, you need to make a trip sometime. There’s a really pretty lake, picture perfect trees and horse stables! The horse stables are probably my favorite and there are some on both sides of the fairgrounds. Now add in some fall foliage and you have a perfect location for a photo shoot! We started by the horse stables because I love the rustic white paint and texture and there was this gorgeous orange/yellow tree. When I was scouting out exactly where I wanted to take them that tree just screamed at me and I knew we had to go there first! When Bridget and Thomas arrived, they brought along their dog, Sophie. Sophie was a good little pup and she hung out in the car and watched us for a while till it was her moment to shine. She was so good for her photos. I think she liked the camera because every shot I got of her was perfect!
We ended the session with their second outfit by the lake. I love this lake because there’s a bridge that crosses over and it’s great to take portraits by. Sophie also made another appearance and of course nailed it. I honestly had a hard time picking my favorites because they’re just all too good. Bridget and Thomas are so amazing and kind and they’re so photogenic. I cannot wait to see these two, again, in a couple weeks when they get married!
