Country Engagement Session on the Family Farm

Riding around in a side-by-side on the farm before sunset for an engagement session… yes please! Emilie and Bobby live on a beautiful farm and when I asked them where they’d like to do their photos they both wanted to use the family property. I always love using a location that means a lot to each couple. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll shoot in St. Louis at Forest Park or anywhere in Maeystown every day and still love it. But there’s something so special when a couple chooses a location that means a lot to them. This is the property where they’ll be making memories the rest of their lives. There’s a beautiful lake, old barns, rustic fences and hay bales. Everywhere was picture perfect to use for Emilie and Bobby’s engagement photos.

We started off by the house and Emilie wore this cute mauve colored lace dress. She scored a major deal on it, too, which when you’re planning a wedding, every chance you can get to save a little is a win-win! Bobby was smiling from ear to ear every time he looked at Emilie. I know photos are the last thing any guy wants to do on a weekend in the fall, but Bobby was a good sport and had a great time. When it came time for their outfit change and to head to a different location, Bobby got into his side-by-side and told me to hop in too. Emilie was riding in another side-by-side with her mom and sister. Bobby and I were to look around and find the next best location and the girls would follow us. We played some country music and enjoyed the fresh air. They hit the jackpot with perfect fall weather!

We ended their session down by some railroad tracks, a lane that has beautiful trees lining it and the old barn. I seriously cannot pick a favorite because I love so many of them. Some of my top favorites include the pictures with their fur babies! Any time I get to take pictures of my couples with their pets, I always get a little bit more excited inside. It was so much fun hanging out with these two and I can’t wait to celebrate these two again this coming September. Enjoy!
