Fall Ste. Genevieve, Missouri Wedding

If you’ve never been to Ste. Genevieve, Missouri before you need to go. It’s a charming little town with dining and shopping, wineries and lots of history. I have taken numerous photo sessions over in that area and many weddings and there’s always so many spots for taking great portraits. Madeleine and Broc had their wedding in the Ste. Genevieve area and I couldn’t wait to get there that day and celebrate them with all of their friends and family. My first stop of the day was to go meet up with Madeleine and her bridesmaids at the Main Street Inn B&B. It’s a beautiful place that I think would be a cute romantic getaway! When I arrived, all of the girls were finishing up hair and makeup and I started in on shooting bridal details, as I always do. This gets my creative juices flowing and starts off each wedding day off with a bang. Then it was time to get Madeleine into her wedding gown! The dress Madeleine chose seriously looked like it was made just for her. I knew from the minute she stepped into that gown that I’d have to get a shot of her on the staircase right by the entrance of the B&B. It’s probably one of my favorite bridal portraits I’ve ever taken. And a bonus was that this B&B had blue colors throughout and that was the color of Madeleine and Broc’s wedding day, so everything blended nicely together and colors didn’t clash.

Some of my couples still choose to do a traditional wedding and NOT see each other before the ceremony for portraits, which is totally fine! I never talk my couples into doing a first look if they don’t want to. It was an earlier ceremony time so all bridal party and bride/groom shots were going to be taken afterwards. Madeleine and Broc still wanted to share letters with each other before the ceremony. We found the perfect spot where it was private and quiet. They held hands standing on opposite sides of a tree and read the sweet words that they had written to each other.

After a beautiful ceremony, we all made our way to a few locations around Ste. Genevieve for portraits. I love getting to go to numerous spots for portraits so that there’s a difference in the looks of the photos. Not that shooting in one location is bad but I like to give a variety. Madeleine and Broc had a super fun bridal party and they were all so nice during portraits. They were all full of smiles and were super cooperative. It’s always nice to have that kind of cooperation when you have a larger bridal party.

The evening ended with a beautiful reception at the Elk’s Lodge. Greenery and wooden elements were the decor and the dessert area was down right amazing! There were glass and rod iron stands holding tons of cupcakes and they all looked so good. I only sampled one of them, even though I wanted every flavor, but oh my, the one I had was quite tasty! The bridesmaids all had tattoos of Broc’s face and he didn’t know it till the reception time. He thought it was pretty funny and creative. I loved that when I was loading up to head home that the dance floor was full. It was a party after all and I was glad to see everyone having a great time celebrating Madeleine and Broc.

I’m so happy to share my favorites with you all. I loved the blue wedding color so much and it made for some really pretty images. I want to thank Madeleine and Broc for being such amazing clients. They were truly so much fun to work with and it’s a little bittersweet that our journey together is over. Weddings are so amazing to be a part of and it’s so much more than just taking photos. It’s about the experience and I truly hope that Madeleine and Broc had the BEST experience.
